This study examined the impact of managerial skills on the performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bauchi State, Nigeria. The research focused on four key managerial competencies: problem-solving, time management, communication, and leadership skills. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing structured surveys distributed to SME owners and managers. Data analysis was conducted using regression and correlation techniques to determine the significance of these variables on SME growth. Findings revealed that managerial skills significantly influenced SME performance, with leadership skills having the strongest impact. The study also highlighted financial constraints, poor infrastructure, and weak government policies as major challenges affecting SME sustainability. Based on these findings, recommendations were made, including the need for targeted training programs, the adoption of modern management tools, and the development of supportive policies to enhance SME growth. The study contributed to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the role of managerial skills in SME performance within the Nigerian context.
