Abstract
This work explored on the relationship between managerial mindfulness and employee
involvement. The objective of the study was to ascertain how dimensions of managerial
mindfulness such as attention and self-awareness relate to employee involvement in terms of
participation and empowerment. The method involved in the study was the use of extant
literature on the subject matter and qualitative content analysis. The study revealed that
managerial mindfulness could enhance employee involvement. The study concluded that
managerial mindfulness acts as a critical element in promoting employee involvement in firms.
Among other things, the study recommended that managers are encouraged to pay proper
attention to employee work behaviours as such would effectively enable their participation in
decision making hereby enhancing the actualization of firms’ goals and objectives; Management
of firms should advance the value of the nexus between them and employees through
self–awareness so as to enhance employee empowerment in the organization.
