The average monthly renewable freshwater resources per municipality in South Africa, based on modelled, gridded data with a monthly timestep from 2010-2019. The average of the monthly data is taken giving a ten-year monthly mean. The water resources taken into account are local runoff, upstream runoff (discharge), net groundwater recharge and desalinated water. This dataset was created as part of a research project on spatial inequality in Water-Energy-Food (WEF) security in South Africa, the implications on public health and the impacts of climate change.
