Overcoming Language Barrier in Open Repositories: A case of Sokoine University of Agriculture

This presentation covers —SUA Institutional Repository (SUAIR), where all publications are in English, and Mkulima Library Repository, —with content translated into Swahili language - —“Mkulima” is a Swahili word which means a “Farmer”. —Repositories are managed and maintained by the directorate of Sokoine National Agricultural Library (SNAL), which is both the University library and National library of agriculture in Tanzania. —Promoting Mkulima Library Repository, feedback from farmers, challenges and way forward are also presented.
