Abstract Background Sesame is an oil, a food source and cash crop. Even though, there is a lot of potential for sesame production in Ethiopia, the average seed yield of sesame is very low due to a lack of high yielder improved sesame variety/ies. As a result, the goals of this study were to assess the performance of sesame genotypes and GGEbiplot analysis. Materials and Methods in a randomized complete block design with three replications, fifteen sesame genotypes, including check (Adi), were tested during the main cropping season (2014, 2015 and 2016) at three sesame growing locations: Werer, Bonta (Arage), and Miesso. Results and Discussion Serkamo white (G12) and Acc-44(1) (G14) performed better than the other genotypes. As a result, its main advantages over the other genotypes tested were its higher grain yield and white seed color. Conclusion Serkamo white (G12)genotype are expected to grasp high external market preferences and prices due to their seed yield and white seed color, contributing to the future sesame export market.
