Portals Hosting Diamond Open Access Outputs: Africa, Europe, Latin America

This spreadsheet provides an overview of publishing platforms that host Diamond Open Access (OA) journals and books, as well as preprint platforms, across Africa, Europe, and Latin America. The data was compiled as part of D1.1 Scoping Report on Non-for-profit Publishing Ecosystems, a deliverable in the ALMASI project. It aims to ensure a better understanding of the infrastructures that enable non-commercial scholarly publishing in these regions.For the purposes of this dataset and the Scoping Report, a publishing platform is defined as a technical infrastructure that hosts scholarly publications and their metadata and supports at least some publishing and editorial processes. The primary inclusion criterion was that a platform hosts Diamond OA journals and/or books. However, some of the platforms included in the dataset do not exclusively host Diamond OA content and may also support APC-funded, subscription-based, or other publishing models. Similarly, certain book platforms combine open access dissemination with the commercial sale of print or digital editions, and some services offer additional features that may require membership. The spreadsheet is intended as a mapping resource rather than a comprehensive registry. It reflects the current state of documented Diamond OA publishing infrastructures across the three regions and does not capture all relevant platforms.
