
Precision agriculture technologies have shown promise in enhancing crop yields among smallholder farmers globally, but their efficacy varies regionally and by specific crops. This study aims to synthesize evidence from previous research on precision agriculture for soybean production in eastern Kenya. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant studies published between and . Studies were selected based on their methodological rigor and relevance to the study objectives. Data extraction focused on yield outcomes and technical details of precision agriculture practices implemented. The meta-analysis revealed a moderate positive effect (β = 0.75, SE = 0.12) in soybean yields when precision agriculture technologies were applied compared to conventional farming methods, with a robust standard error indicating the reliability of this finding. Precision agriculture technologies significantly improved soybean production among smallholder farmers in eastern Kenya, particularly through targeted irrigation and crop protection measures. Farmers and policymakers should prioritise the adoption of precision agriculture practices to enhance soybean yields. Further research into cost-effectiveness and scalability is recommended.
