proverbs SemKwal Documentation of Goemai

A collection of proverbs, together with their interpretations. This session has the following parts: (1) A discussion between A. and N., planning the proverbs (V04ANSemkwal1 and V04ANSemkwal2). (2) Discussion and explanation of selected proverbs only (O04ANSemkwal3). Two sessions were recorded on 13/05/2004 (V04ANSemkwal1, V04ANSemkwal2), the last session on 17/05/2004 (O04ANSemkwal3). This project documents the Goemai language (Afroasiatic, Chadic, West Chadic A, Angas-Goemai, Southern branch; spoken in Central Nigeria) in the form of a comprehensive reference grammar, a dictionary and an annotated corpus of natural texts. A. suggests a number of proverbs, and both participants discuss them.
