A brief summary of the dataset: The dataset examines how artisans’ cultural beliefs influence hazard management practices on construction sites in Kaduna, Nigeria, utilising Q methodology with pictorial elicitation. Forty artisans from trades such as masonry, electrical work, painting, iron bending, and carpentry took part in Q‑sort exercises, generating rankings and explanations that were analysed through factor analysis. The data reveal four viewpoints—faith‑forward safety integration, stewardship with selective pragmatism, communication‑first advocacy and fatalistic external locus attenuation—consolidated into two main factors explaining 89% of variance. These findings show that fatalism and hierarchical norms can undermine safety, while stewardship, communal rssesponsibility, and advocacy reinforce safer practices. The dataset provides anonymized Q‑sort rankings, elicitation materials, demographic profiles, and analysis outputs, enabling researchers to replicate the study, compare cultural influences across contexts, and design culturally sensitive hazard management strategies relevant to workers, firms, regulators, and policymakers.aset contents
