My research focuses on how climate change affects human health, especially people who live with mobility and muscle stiffness problems (spasticity). Many patients in low-income regions, such as Ethiopia, face challenges when hospitals and rehabilitation centers are not built to handle heat waves, droughts, or floods.
Through my project, QF-NAMO-2024-ET, I aim to create climate-resilient healthcare systems that protect these vulnerable patients. This includes developing new rehabilitation methods, assistive technologies, and facility designs that can continue working even in extreme weather.
The goal is to make healthcare more sustainable, accessible, and protective for everyone—helping both people and communities stay healthy in a changing climate. This work supports two major global goals: Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Climate Action (SDG 13).
