Skin punch biopsies were used to investigate LAMP-based diagnosis of Kaposi's Sarcoma (KS) for sub-Saharan Africa. The gold standard histopathology diagnosis was determined by the consensus result of 2 or more pathologists as either KS-present, KS-absent, or indeterminate. Mean LAMP threshold times for KSHV extracted from the clinical biopsies was compared to the pathology consensus to determine the feasibility of this novel molecular diagnostic approach.
