This paper provides a systematic review of the readiness of Nigerian university libraries to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) for collection development. It synthesises existing evidence on technological infrastructure, staff competencies, institutional policies, funding, and organisational preparedness that influence AI adoption. The presentation identifies key challenges, emerging trends, and opportunities, while offering strategic recommendations to enhance AI-driven collection development and strengthen library services in Nigerian universities.
