This study investigates the potential application of smart electronic textiles (e-textiles) inredesigning Nigerian security uniforms to enhance operational efficiency and personnel safety.Through a qualitative review of literature on wearable technology, IoT-enabled fabrics, andmilitary smart textiles, the research proposes a conceptual framework for integrating sensors, conductive fabrics, and communication technologies into security attire. The study alsoevaluates the feasibility of implementing such technologies in Nigeria, highlighting potentialtechnical, economic, and infrastructural challenges. Findings indicate that smart textiles couldsignificantly improve threat detection, biometric monitoring, and situational awareness, buttheir adoption will require strong research investment, local production capacity, and strategicpolicy support.
