Replication Data for: Examining the Implementation Process and Experience of health facility Autonomy Reforms in Kenya: A mixed methods study of counties in Kenya

The way policies are implemented greatly influences their overall effectiveness. In Kenya, counties have made various efforts over the past decade to roll out health facility autonomy reforms. This dataset captures the practical experiences of implementing these reforms, offering insights to support ongoing efforts in Kenya and to inform other countries exploring similar reforms. The dataset is based on a Health Facility Assessment (HFA) conducted in 142 facilities across 6 counties. Using REDCap software installed on tablets, trained research assistants administered structured questionnaires to facility managers. The data explores the level of autonomy these managers experience across five key domains: financial management, procurement, human resources for health, operational decision-making, and strategic planning.
