This dataset contains data for Kenyan cohort that ware used to generate the manuscript “The ferroportin Q248H mutation protects from anemia, but not malaria or bacteremia”. Outcomes of interest include ferritin, hepcidin, stfr, ts (and their respective natural log-transformed variables), hemoglobin, transferrin, iron, ID_ferritin, anaemia, and ida. Exposure of interest is the Ferroportin ‘Q248H’ mutation also coded as ‘rs11568350_a’ in a dominant mode. Other variables used on the analyses include age_months, sex, and infla. These variables are labelled in the data file.

Note that there are other variables that have been included in the manuscript but were not available in the Kenyan dataset - example zinc protoporphyrin, haptoglobin, bacteremia and severe malaria

The manuscript includes other data from Uganda, Burkina Faso, South Africa, The Gambia, Kilifi hospital bacteremia study and MalariaGen project but we do not have rights to share these
