Road files for all continental SSA countries

GeoPackage (.gpkg extension) files for country roads of all continental Sub-Saharan African countries (44) as of September 2025. The query was done through the OSMnx python package (Boeing, G. (2025). Modeling and Analyzing Urba…. Geographical Analysis 57 (4), 567-577. doi:10.1111/gean.70009), which sources and downloads features from OpenStreetMap. 

The query specifically sourced the following road types: motorway, motorway link, trunk, trunk link, primary, primary link, secondary, secondary link, tertiary, and tertiary link.

These files can be used to support open-data and geospatial based modelling tools such as OnSSET and OnStove, and any other open-data modelling or analysis efforts.
