Cet article offre une vue d’ensemble des processus tonals du thème en dibole, langue bantu de zone C parlée dans le Nord du Congo-Brazzaville. Deux schèmes de base émergent de cette étude : (i) une mélodie à un seul ton (Haut ou Bas) partant de la voyelle finale pour s’étendre à toutes les syllabes atonales disponibles du thème verbal, et (ii) une mélodie tonale Bas-Haut imposée au thème verbal, mais où le ton Haut s’efface lorsque l’on a une finale de syntagme verbal (métatonie). D’une certaine façon, quoique ces descriptions mélodiques superficielles apportent quelque éclaircissement, les formes TMA à mélodies similaires peuvent néanmoins se distinguer radicalement en termes morphosyntaxiques.
