Computer-Based Assessment (CBA) is a common technique of assessment in higher educational institutions in Western countries, but a relatively new concept for students and teachers in Africa which Ghana is no different. It was therefore prudent to investigate students’ perceptions about CBA practices in University of Cape Coast. The researchers sampled students from two programmes in one department (i.e., B.Ed. Accounting and B.Ed. Management) in the Department of Business and Social Science Education (DoBSSE) in University of Cape Coast. Information was collected through questionnaire, completed by 255 students. It was concluded that, generally, students have positive perception towards the use of CBA. However, it was also generally agreed by students that there are challenges in the use of CBA. This finding has implications for university administrators to ensure that assessment conform to the international guidelines for Computer-Based Assessment. Also, the challenges that comes with the use of CBA needs to be addressed. This will help reap the full benefits of it to effectively improve teaching and learning.
