Supplementary appendices for the article "Toxic Ecologies and Harm Stabilization: A Critical Realist Account of Social-Ecological Harm at Nairobi's Dandora Dumpsite" (Journal of Critical Realism, forthcoming).

This deposit contains the documentary corpus and the analytical appendices underlying the article's mechanism-based explanation of how unjust human–nature relations become stabilized at Nairobi's Dandora Dumpsite. Together, the files make the inferential chain from documents to regularities to mechanisms fully traceable.

Contents:

  • Appendix_A_corpus.csv: the full documentary corpus (60 documents), with each document's identifier, title, year, strand, author or issuing body, genre, access information, and inclusion rationale.
  • Appendix_B_doc_to_regularity.csv: the document-to-regularity mapping (65 entries), recording for each source the extracted claim, its inferential role, and the rebuttal it engages.
  • Appendix_C_mechanism_inference.csv: the mechanism inference layer (6 mechanisms), recording for each mechanism its definition, the regularities it explains, its grounding documents, and the retroductive basis of the inference.
  • Appendices_A_B_C.pdf: a readable overview of all three appendices.

The three CSV files are UTF-8 encoded and hold the complete information. The PDF is an overview in which some content is shortened; to read any appendix in full, use the corresponding CSV. Document IDs run from 1 to 60 and are shared across all three files, so a document in Appendix A can be traced through Appendices B and C. Full documentation of every column, the strand key, and the mechanism definitions is provided in the README.txt file included in this deposit.
