This dataset contains the supplementary materials accompanying the manuscript "Pediatric HIV Hotspots in Kenya: Machine Learning and Geostatistical Analysis for Enhanced Case Finding," submitted to Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease.
Contents:
Supplementary Table S1: Spatial clustering of paediatric HIV cases in Kenya — Getis-Ord Gi* hotspot analysis results for reported and predicted case distributions across 47 counties, including Gi* z-scores, p-values, and confidence levels.
Supplementary Table S2: Lasso-predicted county-level paediatric HIV cases with bootstrapped 95% prediction intervals (B = 2,000). Includes point predictions, reported case counts, lower and upper prediction bounds, interval widths, and coverage indicators for each of Kenya's 47 counties.
Supplementary Figure S1: County-level paediatric HIV cases showing reported values, tuned Lasso predictions, and bootstrapped 95% prediction intervals, enabling visual assessment of model calibration and county-level uncertainty.
Study period: October 2022 to June 2023. Data sources: Kenya national HIV Testing Services programme data and the 2022 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey. All data are aggregated at the county level; no individual-level or personally identifiable information is included.
