Classify text and documents by relevance to the 27 indicators of SDG #3 (Health and Well-Being)
The data has been split into a test and training set.
devex_train.csv is the dataset that you will use to train your model. This dataset includes the "outcome" which in this competition is the "label(s)," i.e. which of the 27 indicators are relevant to the given text. This dataset includes the columns ID, Type, Text, and Label_1 through Label_12.
devex_test_questions.csv is the dataset to which you will apply your model to test how well it performs. Use your model and this dataset to predict the correct labels. This dataset includes the columns ID, Type, and Text.
devex_submission_format.csv is a table to provide an example of what your submission file should look like. This table has 28 columns: ID, and the 27 labels/indicators as "dummy variables." A value of "1" indicates that the label IS relevant and a value of "0" indicates that the label IS NOT relevant.
Notes on the data: The text contains some HTML mark-up. Dealing with this “dirtiness” of the text is part of the challenge. All the text is in English. The training data was manually classified by Devex analysts and subject-matter experts.
Variables in devex_train.csv
ID: Unique ID of text to be classified
Type: The type or source of the text. (Contract=Names of contracts, News=Titles of news articles, Organization=Text about an organization, Open Opp=Description of an opportunity)
Text: text to be classified
Label_1 through Label_12: These columns are populated starting at Label_1 increasing incrementally until all relevent classifications are populated, to a maximum of 12 Labels. The remaining Labels are left blank.
