This project tests whether targeted SMS reminder messages about loan repayment inrease the incidence and amount of repayment as compared to a generic reminder. The study is implemented with microfinance borrowers in Kenya who are serviced through a cloud-based Core Banking System provider (iMS Guru) that also supports SMS messaging and maintains administrative data on repayment histories and repayment timestamps.
