This mixed-methods study investigates the relationship between teacher burnout and student academic achievement and motivation in six secondary schools within Afijio Local Government Area, Oyo State, Nigeria. Data collected from 40 teachers and 120 students reveal moderate to high levels of teacher burnout, with emotional exhaustion as the most pronounced dimension. Quantitative analyses showed significant negative correlations between teacher burnout and student outcomes: emotional exhaustion and depersonalization negatively correlated with student academic achievement (r = -0.52 and -0.35, respectively) and motivation (r = -0.56 and -0.38, respectively), while personal accomplishment positively correlated with both achievement (r = 0.42) and motivation (r = 0.46).
