Technical vocational education and training (TVET): A tool for quality entrepreneurial Education for National Development

National development is measured by the degree of socio-economic advancement of a country, reflected in her positive changes and growth in science and technology. The present negative growth of economic crises in Nigeria and the increasing rate of unemployment among graduates of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at every level of education has necessitated the integration of entrepreneurial education in TVET. TVET programme is expected to rise to the challenges of equipping the youths and adults with skills for self-employment. It must therefore prepare individuals for entrepreneurial challenges. This paper focuses on TVET as tool for achieving entrepreneurial education for sustainable national development and self reliance. The paper discusses the concepts of TVET, its objectives and its importance to entrepreneurial education with the challenges facing TVET. At the end, conclusion and recommendations are given that all courses and TVET programmes at tertiary level must include entrepreneurial education in their curriculum and encouragement Should be given at all level of government including private sectors participation in funding.
