Creating an inclusive workplace demands equitable developmental opportunities for all employees, including those with disabilities. This study investigates the availability of such opportunities for employees with disabilities at a South African university. Adopting a qualitative exploratory research design, semi-structured interviews were conducted with fifteen employees with disabilities, purposively sampled across various departments. Thematic analysis reveals that while some participants benefit from inclusive training, assistive technologies, and mentorship programmes, others encounter significant barriers including inadequate communication, limited awareness of resources, and inconsistent institutional support. These findings indicate that developmental inclusion initiatives exist but remain unevenly applied across the institution. The study recommends strengthening internal communication, customising training interventions to meet diverse needs, and enforcing equitable access policies. These insights aim to inform institutional management practices and policy frameworks to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment within higher education.
