This paper presents a brief overview of some recent developments in the information market in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of information technologies. It identifies the two main actors of the information market: those who supply the information (the supply side) and those who demand information (the demand side). While the paper points to some of the problems and challenges facing the actors in the market, particularly the lack of efficient telecommunications networks, it notes, however, that there have been some notable achievements. The paper concludes that Nigeria has the resources to exploit and use various technologies associated with an efficient information market.
