The Local Language Speech Technology Initiative

Welcome to the LLSTI Downloads area. All of our languages and tools were built for Festival 1.95-beta and Speech Tools 1.2.95-beta, which may still be available for download from here. Please download Festival and Speech Tools first, untar them, configure and build them. Then untar any of our languages/tools on top of the Festival structure following the instructions given in the individual language readme files. Like festival itself, all our systems are free and distributed under an X11-type licence allowing unrestricted commercial and non-commercial use. For general problems with installing and running Festival, we recommend the festival-talk mailing list. None of our TTS systems are perfect, and all could benefit from a certain amount of additional work. If you are interested in working on improving the systems, you are of course free to just get on and do this.
