Lugwere is an underdescribed Bantu language spoken in Eastern Uganda. It has a rich inventory of tenses, with five past tenses and two future tenses, as well as marking many aspectual and mood categories. This thesis sets out to provide a detailed description of the verb system, looking at both the segmental and suprasegmental morphology of the verb, as well as the usage and function of different tenses, aspects, moods, modal expressions and extensions. There is also a section dedicated to the investigation of the interaction between aktionsart and tense and aspect, and a chapter on the usages of the locative enclitics.
