The 21st century’s technological revolution has permeated several aspects of daily life, including the legal sector, which has witnessed a shift towards digital innovation. This evolution is particularly crucial in the human rights sector where focus has shifted from the establishment of human rights frameworks to demands for actions beyond pronouncements. A critical challenge lies in ensuring the implementation of human rights court decisions, a major issue confronting the African human rights system. The African human rights system, notably the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, faces persistent challenges in implementing its judgments largely due to the absence of a comprehensive monitoring system. This paper suggests that the African Court, through collaborative partnerships, could strategically utilise technology in its monitoring system to address implementation challenges, thereby ensuring tangible improvements in human rights protection.
