This undergraduate thesis investigates the sound system of Saya, an under-documented West Chadic language spoken in northeastern Nigeria. The study examines the language's consonant and vowel inventories, tone system, syllable structure, and phonological processes based on fieldwork with native speakers. The research contributes to the linguistic description of Saya and provides a foundation for future language documentation, phonological research, and orthography development.
