The story of Ndramei and Ipwedu (Maria Pokisel) 2011-04-03-BC-01

Audio recording and transcription/translation of Maria Pokisel telling the traditional story of a Ndramei, a red-headed bird, and his wife Ipwedu. Ipwedu was unfaithful to Ndramei with Kareu, a clam. When Ndramei found out he became angry and beat them. Since then the ndramei bird cries out in the treetops. Previously there were no kareu in the mangroves, but because of Ipwedu, there are plenty now.
