ABSTRACT
This paper aims to interrogate some causative factors that have influence on the increasing incidences of cybercrimes in Nigeria. The paper undertook an inventory of the degree of cybercrimes in Nigeria with a view of revealing the underpinning factors. By adopting an analytical, theoretical and textual methodological approach and utilizing extant literature materials including government publications, the internet magazines, newspaper relevant to the topic under review, this paper argued that there is absence of scientific data base and adequate research agencies needed for stemming the erosion of Nigeria’s path to National Development and progress due largely to the spectra of cybercrime across the country.
