This dataset provides the complete input data used to develop and calibrate the TIMES-MAGe energy system model for the Maghreb region, encompassing Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. It focuses exclusively on the power sector and includes:
- Installed electricity generation capacities as of 2023, disaggregated by technology and country
- Projected retirement of existing capacities by 2050
- Techno-economic parameters (e.g., capital costs, efficiency, operational lifetimes) for selected renewable and fossil-based technologies
All key assumptions and inputs required to structure and run the TIMES-MAGe model, including technology characterization, resource availability, and electricity demand trajectories.
The dataset serves as the foundational input for scenario analysis of the region's power sector transition and supports transparency, reproducibility, and further research in energy system modelling for North Africa.
