Context and background: Effective management and accessibility of geospatial data are important for urban planning and infrastructure development in fast growing cities. Goal and objectives:  This study presents the design and implementation of a scalable geo-portal system personalized for the visualization, retrieval, and management of 1,958 second-order geodetic control points in Ibadan, Nigeria. Methodology: Employing MongoDB Server Version 7.0 for geospatial data storage, the system accomplishes fast query processing with an average response time of 0.45 seconds, even for complex datasets. Developed with open-source platforms such as Node.js, Express.js, and Leaflet, the geo-portal features advanced functionalities, including coordinate transformations, dynamic visualization, and geospatial analytics. Usability testing undertaken with 50 professionals, including surveyors, urban planners, and environmental scientists, revealed a high satisfaction rate (92%) for system efficiency, usability, and responsiveness. Results: Vital characteristics of the geo-portal include dynamic visualization features, user-centered design for stress-free navigation, and scalability to house additional datasets and advanced geospatial analytics. This research demonstrates the transformative potential of combining open-source technologies and modern database systems to create robust, accessible, and cost-effective geospatial management platforms. The geo-portal serves as a critical tool for supporting land management, disaster response, and urban development, addressing the problems of geospatial data accessibility and usability in urban settings.
