In Northwest Africa, several Amazigh (Berber) languages are spoken alongside dialectal Arabic; of these, the Qurʾān has been translated into Tashelḥiyt (southern Morocco) and Kabyle (northern Algeria). This encyclopedia entry, part of a larger multi-authored article on Translation of the Qurʾān, discusses the history and context of translations of the Qur'ān into Berber.
