The data that produced the transmutation of the legend of Inikpi in this research was generated through field work. The researchers visited Idah and Ojokogbe, Ofu for data collection. Two chiefs were sampled for interview: one, from Idah and the other from Ojokogbe, Ofu. A list of traditional oral forms was made. Out of a number of these oral forms, the Inikpi story was chosen. The interview question was on Inikpi. The story as told by the two chiefs was recorded for accurate transmutation. Using the elements of drama and theatre such as plot, story, theme, character, stage, etc. the story was transmuted. A suitable place is needed to serve as theatre for the performance of this story. If given the desired attention, theatre in Igala land will improve the economy and create jobs. Large audiences are awaiting the introduction of Igala theatre.
