The Tunisian DOI Consortium project, launched by the CNUDST in collaboration with DataCite, is a pioneering initiative to foster a sustainable national community to leverage DataCite's open science infrastructure. The project's primary goal is to enhance the visibility and accessibility of Tunisian research outputs and resources by registering Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). In 2024, the consortium seeks to encourage Tunisian institutions to adopt DOIs, ensuring permanent access to their research outputs. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness among stakeholders, including librarians, repository managers, researchers, academics, publishers, and decision-makers, about the benefits of open science infrastructure and persistent identifiers. By linking local solutions to the global PID DataCite infrastructure, the project aspires to create a robust network that significantly improves the discoverability and citation of Tunisian scientific work. Presented at DataCite Open Hours on 24 April 2024.
