This dataset is the result of a fieldwork conducted at Mayotte island, over-sea French territory. Mayotte is part of the Comoros archipelago located northward in the Mozambique Channel, western Indian Ocean (WIO). Five well-developed coral reef ecosystems (Aéroport International, Île Blanche, Jolly Roger, N'Gouja, Surprise) representing fringing (F) and inner patch reefs (IPR) within 2-8m depth were sampled during ten field trips between october 2021 and september 2025. We thank NEXTGenerationEU/France Relance, the French Office of Biodiversity (OFB), the Natural marine park of Mayotte (PNMM) and the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) for their financial support to the project 'Future Maore Reefs' coordinated by Dr A. Tribollet (IRD-LOCEAN-IPSL) and Dr F. Guilhaumon (IRD-ENTROPIE) between 2021 and 2023. We thank the OFB, the PNMM and IRD for their financial support to the project 'Future Maore Reefs-2' coordinated by Dr A. Tribollet (IRD-LOCEAN-IPSL) between 2024 and 2026. Scuba divers collected images of benthic substrate using a sony© RX-100 V camera enclosed in a nauticam© housing. This dataset contains underwater images of :- Site name : Aéroport International- Type : plot- Samplings (dates): s01 (2021-10), s02 (2022-02), s03 (2022-06), s04 (2022-11), s06 (2023-05), s07 (2023-09), s08 (2024-03), s09 (2024-09), s10 (2025-06), s11 (2025-09) Coded targets and scale bars have been placed in the scene prior to image acquisition. They may be used in Agisoft Metashape as reference points for georeferencing, scaling or as a valid match between images to improve camera alignment procedure during photogrammetric reconstruction.
