The datasets were sourced from Southern Africa countries namely Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe where recorded historical rainfall data was available. In each country different meteorological stations were selected and were then categorized into coastal, sub-humid and semi-arid zones based on agro-ecological regions. The following information was collected for each meteorological service station; country, meteorological service station name, agroecological region, year , recorded rainfall, and stations geographical coordinates.
