USE OF INFORMATION RESOURCES AS PREVENTIVE TECHNIQUES AGAINST EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES AMONG STUDENTS OF EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY

This study examined the Use of Information Resources as Preventive Techniques against Examination Malpractices among Students of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, The purpose of the study was also to investigate the level of availability and utilization of information resources among students, and the impacts of information resources as preventive techniques against examination malpractices. Descriptive research design of survey type was adopted for the study. The populations comprised of 5000 final year students in Faculty of Education and Science in Ekiti State University. The sample of the study was 50 respondents selected through random sampling techniques. The research instrument used for data collection was self-designed questionnaire titled the use of information resources as preventive techniques against examination malpractices among students of Ekiti State University. The findings reveal multifaceted challenges contributing to examination malpractices, emphasizing the need for comprehensive support systems at Ekiti State University. The study recommended that the institution in collaboration with the library should implement targeted awareness campaigns to ensure students are well-informed about the types and availability of information resources during examinations and to also develop proactive measures to address identified factors contributing to examination malpractices among students of Ekiti State University.
