This presentation was a use case for SciVal where the tool was used to locate potential collaborators from the East African Community (of nations). It starts with a brief background of the CMU-Africa campus and the Kigali Cooperative Research Centre. Then SciVal is used to determine the current landscape of scholarly publishing in Rwanda, the current situation of collaboration between CMU-Africa and Rwandan institutions and then expands to situation of collaboration with institutions of the East African Community (Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda - South Sudan may be added later when it is established as a separate entity from Sudan). SciVal is used to locate researchers who work in the area of Artificial Intelligence (one of three masters programs at CMU-Africa).
