This paper analyses the honey value chain in Gabon through a political economy and Global Value Chain (GVC) perspective. It examines how structural constraints, governance dynamics, and market access shape value creation and value capture within the sector. The study explores the dominance of imported honey, the marginalisation of local producers, and proposes policy interventions focused on processing infrastructure, certification, and producer cooperatives to strengthen domestic value capture. This document was produced as an assignment for the FPM002 Political Economy of Food module undertaken at the Centre for Food Policy, City St Georges, University of London.
