Two whole genome sequences (WGS) are presented in this study, of isolates belonging to Colletotrichum species, C. truncatum and C. siamense, obtained from diseased African yam bean pods and leaves respectively. Colletotrichum species are fungal pathogens responsible for anthracnose on a wide range of hosts. The WGS data provides valuable insights into the genetic characteristics of these isolates. This announcement shares the genomic resources generated from our study, promoting further research into Colletotrichum evolution and effector repertoires, as well as supporting the development of effective disease management strategies.
