The purpose of the 2007 MAP (Measuring Access and Performance) survey in Zimbabwe is to provide evidence for social marketing decision making. The data gathered through the 2007 MAP survey will be presented in PSI research Dashboard and Box Score. The PSI dashboard is a set of standardized tables for segmenting populations, monitoring trends on key population and service delivery indicators, and evaluating program effectiveness. MAP feeds in to tables relating to monitoring of product and service delivery. Internally, results from the dashboard and Box Score will be used in strategic, project and marketing planning. Specifically, MAP will identify areas of poor coverage or access and will also estimate access in high risk areas (Growth Points and Border Towns). This can be vital information for the sales and marketing teams in prioritizing their efforts. In addition these data will show if program actions following 2006 MAP survey did improve distribution efficiency. Externally, results can be used for meeting stakeholder information needs in terms of intervention performance and advocacy as appropriate.
