This dataset represents a collection of notes and a recording made by Andrew Harvey while in Bayreuth, Germany, with Atanas Tallas in Kiomboi, Tanzania, using the WhatsApp software voice call function, and the QuickTime software recording function. Harvey is a linguist (though not a specialist in Nyilamba), and Tallas is a speaker of Nyilamba. Data was collected on June 15th of 2026. Data in the .wav file named "20260615d_Anonymised" is the recording, during which Harvey matches Nyilamba kinship terms with a family tree of Tallas' family established by both Harvey and Tallas in an earlier step. It has been anonymised to remove personal names, but preserves other information, including Tallas' pronunciations of the Nyilamba forms.Data in the .pdf file named "20260615d_Speaker_Metadata" is the biographical information of Nyilamba speaker Atanas Tallas.Data in the .pdf file named "20260615d_Kinship_Chart" is a schematic representation of Nyilamba kinship, as shared by Atanas Tallas in the recording "20160615d".Special thanks to: Aron Zahran, and Bahati Said Sharrif.
