ADOPTION OF e-GOVERNANCE POLICY AND TRANSPARENCY IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS: A STUDY OF NIGER STATE POLYTECHNIC, ZUNGERU

The study appraises the impact of e-governance on Transparency in Nigeria Tertiary
institution with reference to Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru. The study adopted a
descriptive survey with the population of nine hundred and forty nine (949). To
determine the sample size, Taro Yamani formula was adopted and Bouwley
proportionate. SPSS version 20 was used to analyze and test the hypotheses. The study
reveals that the e-Governance policy has significantly enhances admission process,
financial probity, online result management, ICT application and online payment of
fees. It was also reveals that that epileptic power supply, lack of ICT skill etc affect egovernance on transparency in Nigeria tertiary institutions. In the light of the above,
the study recommends for frequent training and retraining of both workers and students
to improve teaching; learning and research.
