In the digital era, making research easily discoverable and accessible cannot be overstated. In this context, the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system has emerged as a global persistent identifiers (PIDs) standard for identifying and linking digital content. However, many institutions in Tunisia, as well as institutions in other developing countries, have been slow to adopt this system due to various challenges. Building a local community is therefore essential to deal with the adoption of PIDs, including DOIs. A strong, collaborative network should facilitate the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and engaged. This community-driven approach not only promotes the widespread use of DOIs but also fosters innovation and efficiency in managing digital resources.
