AfriNexus is Africa's answer to a question the continent has not fully asked: why does a market of 1.5 billion people, 54 nations, and USD 220.3 billion in annual intra-continental trade still move goods as if the borders are walls and the phones in every farmer's pocket are irrelevant? The answer is not infrastructure. It is the absence of a digital coordination layer built specifically for African realities—mobile-first, corridor-aware, customs-integrated, financially inclusive, and unified across the entire trade chain from manufacturer to last mile.

This white paper presents AfriNexus v5.1 (Public Research Edition), an expanded platform vision addressing three
interlocking challenges: the USD 28.5 billion freight coordination failure, the USD 317 billion e-commerce logistics
gap, and the 25 million new jobs Africa must create annually by 2050 to absorb its youth population (World Bank
Africa's Pulse 2025). These are three symptoms of the same coordination failure, and AfriNexus resolves all three
through unified digital public-commercial infrastructure.
