Gambian languages exhibit a rich diversity of linguistic structures influenced by historical migrations and cultural exchanges within Africa. The research will employ comparative linguistic analysis, utilising existing literature and data from fieldwork conducted in various Gambian communities. Ethnographic interviews and documentation will supplement formal language studies. A notable finding is the significant influence of Mandinka on the structure of Fulfulde, particularly in verb morphology and noun classification systems. This study underscores the importance of preserving and understanding Gambian languages within their broader Afro-Linguistic context. Further research should explore the interplay between language structures and cultural practices across different Gambian communities.
