This technical report presents Agrio AI, a student-developed AI-powered agricultural assistant designed to support Egyptian farmers with everyday agricultural challenges. The application allows farmers to ask agricultural questions using simple Egyptian Arabic and receive understandable AI-generated guidance. It also provides AI-assisted plant image analysis to help identify possible diseases and suggest appropriate solutions. In addition, Agrio AI includes simple irrigation guidance and crop-price information to make the application more useful in everyday farming.
The project was inspired by the agricultural environment of rural Minya, Upper Egypt, where farming is an important part of community life. The goal was to apply computer science and artificial intelligence to a practical problem within the local community and explore how accessible AI tools can help farmers obtain useful information more easily.
Khaled Taha Fouly was responsible for the project idea, interface design, development, AI integration, and overall implementation.
